Pierre L. Gauthier

Pierre L. Gauthier

President and Chief Executive Officer, NAPEC

Mr. Pierre L. Gauthier has been President and Chief Executive Officer of NAPEC since August 2014. Prior to joining NAPEC, he had been with ALSTOM since 1996, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alstom Power and Transportation Canada Inc. from June 2003 and of Alstom Inc. in the U.S. from 2008 to 2013. Previously he was with Gulf Canada, Gaz Métropolitain and ABB.

Mr. Gauthier has served on numerous councils and associations, including the U.S. Council for Competitiveness and Canada’s National Electricity Roundtable, and on the board of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec. He is Chairman of the Board of the Centre de Commercialisation en Innovation pour Manufacturiers and a member of various Canadian and U.S. associations.

Mr. Gauthier holds a degree in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and has pursued studies in business administration at McGill University and INSEAD, the European-based institute of business administration. His distinctions include France’s Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, an honorary doctorate from the École Polytechnique of the Université de Montréal, and the Jean-Jacques Archambault prize of the Association de l’Industrie Électrique du Québec.

Mario Trahan

Mario Trahan

Chief Financial Officer, NAPEC

Mr. Mario Trahan has been Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation since 2004. He joined Investissements CVTech in March 1997 as Chief Accountant and subsequently became Controller and Director of Finance and Administration. From 1994 to 1997, he held various accounting positions with several large organizations. Mr. Trahan obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting science from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1993 and has been a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) since 1997.

Pierre Joubert

Vice-President, Human Ressources, NAPEC

Mr. Pierre Joubert has been the Corporation’s Vice-President, Human Resources since September 2014. A graduate in industrial relations of the Université de Montréal, he has more than 30 years’ experience in companies of international scope. Prior to joining NAPEC, he was from 2008 to 2014 Vice-President, Human Resources and Talent at Alstom Canada and Senior Manager, Human Resources for Alstom Renewable Power North America. He had previously worked at Groupe Stratégique Inc., CAE Inc., Pepsico Inc., Price Waterhouse, Air Canada and Kruger Inc.


Jason McKay

Chief Information Officer and Vice President Business Process, NAPEC

Mr. Jason McKay has been with NAPEC since July 2015. Mr. McKay holds a BA in History from the University of Connecticut and received his Six Sigma certification from Fairfield University. Mr. McKay has over 15 years of experience in companies of international scope and has led many international project teams. Prior to joining NAPEC, Jason was with ALSTOM with increasing responsibilities in IT and most recently was the Director of IS&T End User Services and Support for the Americas. He had previously worked at Cartus in Operations, Project Management, and as Global Account Management.


Kenneth McKay

Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary, NAPEC

Mr. Kenneth McKay was appointed Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary on January 1st 2018. He was Acting General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since March 2017.  A graduate of McGill University with both common and civil law degrees, he also holds a B.A (1991) and an MBA (2013), he has more than 20 years’ experience in various industries. Prior to joining NAPEC, he was Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Englobe Corp. prior to which he held the position of Senior Legal Counsel with Tembec Inc. He also worked at Merrill Corporation Canada, McCarthy Tétrault LLP, Quebecor World and General Electric. 

Stephen M. Zemaitatis Jr.

Stephen M. Zemaitatis Jr.

President, Riggs Distler & Company, Inc.

Mr. Stephen M. Zemaitatis Jr. has been President of Riggs Distler & Company, Inc. since February 2014, after serving as Executive Vice-President of that company from January 2011 to February 2014. Previously he was its Vice-President, Overhead Utilities from July 2009 to January 2011 and Operations Manager, Overhead Utilities from 2006 to July 2009.
